Merit Base scholarships
|
International students are awarded scholarships based on student academic merit. Students are required to apply to FIU by the priority application deadline of December 3rd 2013 in order to be considered.

The University Wide scholarship website provides a variety of scholarships for incoming students. Scholarships are competitive and students should apply before the scholarship deadlines.

Latin American & Caribbean Center |
The Latin American and Caribbean Center awards out-of-state tuition waivers annually to international graduate and undergraduate students from the Caribbean and Mexico .These waivers pay the out-of-state portion of the cost of tuition for students studying in any discipline at any public university or community college in Florida. Scholarship are competitive students should apply before scholarship deadline.

Rowe-Fund |
The Rowe Fund is an educational loan program of the Organization of American States that helps citizens from Latin America and the Caribbean OAS Member States finance their studies or research in accredited universities across the United States. |
To compete for the scholarships listed above, students must submit and complete the admissions application by the notification dates. Florida residents may also qualify for scholarships from the Florida Bright Futures Program which may add to the total value of their scholarship. Scholarship funds are limited and are awarded on a first -come first -serve basis. Decisions are made by the scholarship committee and are based on the student’s strong academic credentials. Students are eligible for only one of the scholarships listed above. Meeting the minimum requirements for a scholarship does not guarantee selection or admission to the University.
Note: Scholarships are renewable provided that you meet the applicable conditions. You must be a first-time Bachelor’s degree-seeking student, who enrolls full-time each semester, maintains a cumulative grade point average of 3.0, and completes 30 credit hours for the academic year (Fall and Spring only) in an undergraduate degree program at FIU.
