Scholarships: Undergraduate Scholarships FALL 2010

Greetings from Florida International University!

All high school students applying for the Fall term are evaluated for competitive, merit-based scholarship packages. All awards are for a total of four years.

Scholarship Amount Minimum Criteria
National Merit
Finalist Scholarship
$5,000 per year
renewable for 3 years $20,000 total
Students chosen by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation as National Merit Finalists. Minimun 1800 SAT (Verbal, Math, and Writing) or 27 ACT.
National Achievement
Finalist Scholarship
$5,000 per year
renewable for 3 years $20,000 total
Student chosen by the National Achievement Scholarship Corporation as National Achievement Finalists. Minimun 1800 SAT (Verbal, Math, and Writing) or 27 ACT.
National Hispanic
Scholar Scholarship
$5,000 per year
renewable for 3 years $20,000 total
Students chosen by the College Board as National Hispanic Scholars. Minimun 1800 SAT (Verbal, Math, and Writing) or 27 ACT.
Valedictorian Scholarship
(FL students only)
$3,500 per year
renewable for 3 years $14,000 total
Selected Florida applicants who are named their school Valedictorian. Minimum 1680 Sat (Verbal, Math & Writing) or 25 ACT.
Salutatorian Scholarship
(FL students only)
$3,000 per year
renewable for 3 years $12,000 total
Selected Florida applicants who are named their school's Salutatorian. Minimum 1680 SAT (Verbal, Math & Writing) or 25 ACT.
Presidential Scholarship
(FL students only)
$2,500 per year
renewable for 3 years $10,000 total
Selected Florida applicants with at least a 3.5 GPA and a minimum 1850 SAT (Verbal, Math & Writing) or 28 ACT.
Academic Excellence Scholarship
(FL students only)
$1,000 per year
renewable for 3 years $4,000 total
Selected Florida applicants with at least a 3.5 GPA and a minimum 1680 SAT (Verbal, Math & Writing) or 25 ACT.
Academic Achievement Scholarship
(Non-FL students only)
$5,000 per year
renewable for 3 years $20,000 total

Selected Non-Florida applicants with at least a 3.5 GPA and 1620 SAT (Verbal, Math & Writing) or 25 ACT.
 
No separate application is necessary to compete for the listed awards. Student must complete the admissions process by the scholarship deadline of February 15th in order to compete. Competition for scholarship awards is based on strong academic preparation, and students are eligible for one award from the above list. Student must be admitted and enrolled for the Fall term. Scholarships are not stacked. A student can only receive one institutional award. Student must complete 15 credit hours each semester for eight consecutive semesters (Fall and Spring), and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Scholarships are applied to tuition only.
