Test Scores
Take your ACT or SAT - Take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Test (ACT) and have official test scores sent to FIU. (Not required for transfer students with 60 semester hours or more of transferable college credit.)
TOEFL for International Applicants: Applicants from countries where English is not the official language, must take the TOEFL and submit their scores to FIU. Exceptions are made for those who have earned a degree from a school/university in an English-speaking country. The required minimum TOEFL score is 173 on the computer exam or 500 on the paper exam.

Transcript/s - If you are a beginning
freshman or transfer applicant with less than
60 semester hours of transferable academic
credit, ask your high school to forward your
official secondary school record to FIU.
-GED Applicants: Please submit your official GED test score results and GED Certificate
Request College/University
Transcript/s - If you have taken
any college/university level course work, even
as a dual enrollment student, please have each
institution forward an official transcript
to FIU.
International Transcripts: Applicants with international educational credentials must provide a transcript evaluation from one of the following two member services of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Official evaluations must be forwarded directly to FIU from the evaluation service.

High school diplomas require a document by document evaluation with U.S. equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA) College transcripts require a course by course evaluation with a calculated USA equivalent grade point average.
Financial Matters
Apply for Financial Aid: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) after January 1 of your senior year in high school to qualify for federal aid. FIU Financial Aid web site: http://www.fiu.edu/orgs/finaid/
