- How do I check the status of my application?
You may use your Panther ID number to access your my.fiu.edu portal and check on the status of your application.
If you need the default password or need to reset your old password please visit the FIU Accounts website for more information.
- How do I change my entry term?
To update your term of entry please complete the Undergraduate Application Update form.
- I applied for one term but was admitted to another. Why?
Many students are admitted to an alternate term as a result of their academic profile and the admissions requirements of their preferred term of entry.
Admission to FIU is very competitive. We admit students to the academic term that best suits their profile. Academic profiles are based on the SAT/ACT scores and GPA on file.
- How do I submit my application fee?
To submit the application fee you must login to your my.fiu.edu account using your Panther ID number and password. You can then make a payment with a credit card via the portal.
If you need your default password or require assistance in resetting your password please visit the FIU Accounts website.
- Are the SAT or ACT scores required on our applications?
All first year students—international and domestic—are required to provide SAT or ACT scores on applications for direct admission into FIU.
- Is medical insurance required?
All international students on F-1 or J-1 visas must have medical insurance that meets certain requirements before registering at FIU. Your compliance with this requirement is monitored by Student Health Services (SHS).
You may purchase university-approved medical insurance online by credit card or electronic check. If you have your own insurance, the policy must be approved by SHS. For more information visit the SHS website.
- How do I learn more about athletics at FIU?
The first step is to visit the FIU Athletics website where you can learn about walk-on tryouts or get in contact with coaches to determine if you may be considered for an FIU athletic team.
It may be helpful to also refer to the NCAA eligibility center. The eligibility center is a great resource for any student wanting to play college-level athletics. FIU is part of the NCAA and adheres to their requirements.
You will also need to meet the eligibility requirements to be admissible to FIU. That means good high school grades, SAT or ACT test scores and, if necessary, TOEFL or IELTS scores to show your English language proficiency.
